The level 5 Departmental Managers Apprenticeship has been developed to ensure individuals working on a site in an operations/departmental position or managing teams and/or projects achieve their operational or departmental goals and objectives. This Apprenticeship uses blended learning and provides the Apprentice with the skills and knowledge to understand business development tools, operational business planning techniques, manage resources, how to set up and manage a project, understand process management, understand business finance and how to manage a budget, financial forecasting, understand approaches to partner, stakeholder and supplier relationship management including negotiation, influencing, and effective networking. Whilst gaining the skills to plan, organise and manage resources, monitor progress, and identify risk and their mitigation, support, manage and communicate change, monitor performance against plans, producing reports, and provide management information based on the collation, analysis and interpretation of data.

Course Duration: 30 Months (part time)
What is involved: The entry requirement for this apprenticeship is decided by each employer, it is typically 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or higher (or new grading equivalent). The delivery of the Apprenticeship will depend on the employer’s requirements and preference. Both you and your employer will be supported and guided throughout the apprenticeship and both will have access to a comprehensive range of resources, with regular feedback on progress and development via e-portfolio, Structured progress reviews all completed by an Industry specialist qualified trainers and assessors.
Next Step: Once completed the Apprentice can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, and those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI.
